Beginning in late 2015, I took on a larger role at Wenner Media, overseeing the product design and front-end implementation, as well as general product management for all three brand websites: Rolling Stone, Us Weekly and Men's Journal.
Following this promotion and its added responsibilities, myself and the team undertook a full re-platforming and redesign of RollingStone.com. This redesign gave the site a modernized, more accessible look, significantly improved page load times and overall performance, 5-10x increased pageview metrics across various areas of the site, and much more — all while still upholding the brand's storied legacy and authority in the music and culture space.
Key features include a proprietary "Trending" meter that visualized Chartbeat metrics across top-performing pieces of content, an improved navigational mechanic for the magazine's signature definitive lists (that often rank groupings of 50-500+ items), a vertically scrolling gallery layout, and a first-of-its-kind video destination that showcased the best of RS's video library via a UX that was both innovative and familiar at the same time.
